Beam 1.2.0 (build 202) modernizes project setup, multi-Mac use, server management, previews, publishing, and licensing.

Guided project setup

The new assistant collects the project name, public website address, local export folder, and server connection in clear steps. You test the server before creation and review the complete setup before Beam prepares the webspace.

iCloud and multiple Macs

Project settings can synchronize through a private iCloud database. Existing local projects can move to iCloud later, and synchronized projects appear automatically on additional Macs. Credentials can use iCloud Keychain, while every Mac keeps its own export folder and Hotfolder activation.

Central server updates

Beam detects outdated server components and offers Update Servers in the project list. It updates up to three affected projects simultaneously and shows progress beside each project.

Publishing and Hotfolder

Switch a project between manual publishing and Hotfolder directly in the project header. Manual actions remain available while Hotfolder is active, and incomplete chunk uploads can be resumed.

Better previews and favicons

Website previews and favicons load more reliably. Projects without a configured local folder show a clear message, and sites without a usable favicon receive a consistent placeholder. Favicons can be hidden separately in the project list and project header.

App updates and licensing

Beam checks for app updates at most once a day unless automatic checks are disabled. The License tab shows the registered email, and Deactivate This Mac… frees a seat for another Mac without deleting local projects.

Modernized interface and stability

Beam 1.2.0 includes a new app icon, a calmer splash screen, a compact project list, more consistent colors, a redesigned About window, and reliable reopening of the most recently selected project. It also improves SFTP server preparation, iCloud credential migration, temporary-file cleanup, signing, notarization, and Sparkle updates.
