Beam can synchronize project configurations through a cloud folder you control and can create a visual preview for each project in the app.
Enable project sync
Open Beam settings and enable Cloud Sync.
Choose a folder inside iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or another folder that already syncs between your Macs.
Allow the first Mac to write the encrypted Beam sync data.
On the other Mac, select the same sync folder and wait for the file to become available locally.
Beam encrypts the synchronized project configuration. Server passwords remain on each Mac and are not synchronized.
Complete each Mac’s local setup
The local source folder may have a different path on another Mac. If Beam reports that the connection is valid but the source folder is missing, open Project Setup and choose the corresponding local export folder on that Mac.
Configure project previews
Enable the screenshot tile when you want a visual preview in the project list. Local screenshot capture is the default and is normally the most reliable option. Increase the screenshot delay when a page loads images or client-side content after the initial page load.
When to use cloud screenshots
Cloud mode uses an external screenshot service. It can fail when a site blocks automated visitors or uses Cloudflare bot protection. Switch back to Local mode when the public site works in a browser but the cloud preview remains blank.
Useful app preferences
Enable launch at login when Hotfolder projects should be monitored automatically after the Mac starts.
Choose whether Beam plays sounds for publish and backup results.
Hide the screenshot tile when a compact project list is preferred.
