Stealth Preview lets you inspect the published page while the ZapNap maintenance overlay remains visible to everyone using the normal URL. It is useful for checking a live update before reopening the page.

Create the private preview link

  1. Enable Maintenance Mode in ZapNap and publish the page.

  2. Enable Stealth Preview in the ZapNap settings.

  3. In Stacks App Preview, use the yellow information bar to copy the private preview link.

  4. Open that link on the published website. It contains a private ?zap=… parameter that allows the maintenance overlay to be bypassed for the configured access period.

Keep the link private

Anyone with the complete link can use the temporary bypass while it remains valid. Do not publish it, add it to navigation, or include it in a public support post.

Confirm both views

Keep the private preview open in one window. In a separate private browser window, open the normal URL without the ?zap=… parameter. The private link should show the page, while the normal URL should continue to show the maintenance overlay.

When access expires

The bypass expires after the duration configured in ZapNap. Copy a new private link if more review time is needed. When the work is approved, turn off Maintenance Mode, publish, and test the normal public URL.

If the preview does not work

  • Confirm that the latest ZapNap settings were published.

  • Copy the complete private link again; do not remove its query parameter.

  • Check whether the configured access period has expired.

  • Make sure you are testing the same published page on which ZapNap is installed.
